One of the best cheeseburgers I’ve had in my life. The pie was also fantastic, we had a slice of meringue banana. The fries were whatever. The restaurant is beautiful with lots of original machines. We’ll definitely come back when we visit Pasadena again. Thanks for a great meal with great service!

❤️tuna grilled sandwich, salad with blue cheese dressing great seasoning, turkey hamburger with cheese is awesome!Lemon pie, boysenberry pie à la mode are adorable and tasty . I was deeply impressed by the burgers, chocolate milkshakes and pies, and it became the main goal of my visit to LA this time,I finally had them so happy today!

This is an old-fashioned diner with GREAT burgers and homemade pie. My husband has been coming here since the 80s. Classic. GREAT food. Diner vibes.

Came here for lunch, the burger was great but they are cash only! Bathroom was a little dirty and the sink was a little weird (you need to turn it on with your foot). Overall, very old school diner vibes.

Nothing but quality throughout this whole menu. I ordered a simple double cheeseburger and it was absolutely packed with flavor from the fresh ground beef to the creamy thousand island. I heard it once, but I’ll say it here. This burger is the high quality version of an In N Out double-double. Totally love both of them, but this is a nice treat to enjoy once in a while. Also the fries are perfectly cooked. I tried the Dutch apple pie for the first time and absolutely fell in love. I can’t get over how good the fresh whipped cream was. I had to make sure every bite had a huge dollop on there. Can’t recommend this Pasadena staple enough. Will definitely be back!

A Pasadena institution that serves a diner-esque burgers similar to In-n-out with the added menu item of pie. The prices are a bit steep. One cheeseburger combo with water and a slice of pie came out to $35 with tip. We only got to try the peach pie because they were out of almost all the other flavors, but you can tell the recipe had not changed probably since it was founded.

Amazing burgers in charming old fashioned diner. Even the veggie burger is killer! Fries, onion rings, potato salad all delicious as well. You’ll have to queue on weekends for breakfast/lunch, but it moves fast! Weeknights are pretty quiet

I was expecting to post a rave review for my first time at Pie N Burger but it was a mixed bag. It was National French Fry day so we had to order fries. One of my friends ordered a turkey burger and the rest of us ordered pie. The fries were good, and the turkey burger looked very impressive. The apple pie and peach pie were fine, but my rhubarb looked anemic for it was clearly underbaked. A pie crust should never be chewy. However, the rhubarb filling was excellent. Quite tart. Service was fantastict from order to payment. My change was actually counted out to me, not just shoved at me with a here you go. Will I come back here? Maybe. Because good pie is hard to find.

My dad loved this place and was a frequent customer back in the 70's until his untimely passing in the early 80's. He was from Oklahoma and grew up on delicious pies (thanks to Aunt Jewell who was a pie virtuoso but I digress). The delicious burgers and esp their pie offerings at this timeless establishment obviously struck a chord with him. I stopped in here on a recent Saturday and sat at the counter and was promptly greeted by Sandy who has an engaging and warm personality. She was very attentive and provided fantastic service. Suffice it say that the cheeseburger combo with their potato salad (off-the-chain delicious!) was on point and delectable. Although I felt full afterward, I took a slice of their butterscotch pie home (hey, you can't visit Pie 'n Burger without trying their pie, right?) and it absolutely complemented my coffee later that afternoon. The overall ambiance of this establishment is definitely old school Americana diner and is like stepping back in time to a simpler period. But this adds to their charm and obviously lives up to the dictum "if it ain't broke, why fix it?' I definitely plan on coming back. Friendly reminder that they only take cash but they do have an ATM onsite. Also, it can get crowded so it might be best to plan a visit for the off-peak hours but even then, the churn is quick enough so your wait shouldn't be too excessive.

I happen to be in Pasadena for a meeting in the afternoon and had some time beforehand to grab a bite. This location popped up on my feed and the classic diner style vibes drew me in from other pictures on Yelp. It's a fairy small eatery with lots of wood finished interior design and a very prominent counter seating right when you walk in. I took a seat and one of the two ladies taking care of orders promptly took my order. She was very nice and helpful after I said this was my "first time" here. You can tell that this is a "hidden gem" because there were quite a few people who were coming in and out, some dining in and others carry-out. Menu is fairly straightforward (burgers, sandwiches, salads, side dishes, and of course Pies! Since it was my first time I went with the Big Ben which is their double cheeseburger. Comes with your choice of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onions (raw and/or grilled), with thousand island spread. Very reminiscent of an In-N-Out double double, but with considerably larger patties (as you can see in my photos). The combo comes with choice of sides, which I chose onion rings, but you could have easily had others such as Fries, potato salad, etc.). I also ordered a bowl of chili since that sounded good at the time. Food: DELICIOUS burger and onion rings! It's a bit messy because the bun is relatively small to be able to hold in the tremendous amount of meat, cheese, and veggies. Onion rings were spot on crunchy and seasoned well. The only slight knock on the food for me was the chili. It looked really appetizing with the cheese and onions on top. The flavor was decent but maybe lacking a little tomato or something slightly acidic. The beans flavor was most prominent and maybe overpowering the meatiness or seasoning. (Don't get me wrong...I still ate it!) Price: my total bill for the burger combo, drink, and chili came out to a little over $30. Might be a little pricey for some. I might save a few dollars next time and skip the double patty and go with single cheese burger. If you're not a chili fan, then that's another $9-10 that you can shave off your bill. NOTE: this place is CASH ONLY. So come prepared. Service: fantastic. The waitresses were friendly, fast, and attentive. I will have to come back to check out their pies. Had no room or time left this time!
